Casting Contest

At this year's state final, the IHSA will host a bass fishing casting contest open to any high school student who wants to compete.

The contest will be held at designated times on both Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. State qualifiers are welcome to compete in either session, but since the Saturday session will be held while teams are out on the water, only those alternates who are on shore will be able to participate

The state final bass fishing casting contest will be open to any high school student that wants to compete. There will be designated times on both Friday and Saturday for students to compete. Any of the state qualifiers may compete, but they will only have Friday to participant unless they are an alternate that will not be fishing on Saturday during designated time that the casting contest will be conducted.

Casting Contest Schedule:

Located close to the Fishing Celebration Expo

Friday, May 8, 2009: 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Saturday, May 9, 2009: 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Awards will be presented at 3:00 pm at the weigh-in stage.
